"Checks and balances"

Your little will:

• Be introduced to concept of balance and weights
• Be able to practice placing different mass weights on the opposing plates and observing the effect on the movement of the scale
• Compare weights of other objects by placing them on the plates 
• Younger children can practice fitting the weights into their cavities and naming their colors

Specifications

• Some assembly is required
• Wood material
• In inches: 9.45 (L) x 3.94 (W) x 8.86 (H)
• Two plates with string to tie to each end of beam
• 6 colorful painted pegs of varying heights act as weights and fit in their own cavities in base
• Beam and fulcrum tilt as heavier objects are placed
• Note: the scale may not be perfectly balanced before weights are added to the plates

• Parts may be small enough to pose a choking hazard to children under 3. However, activity is worthwhile if done under adult supervision. You know your child best.
